The updated 2022 California Building Standards Code, as amended and adopted by the City of Agoura Hills City Council, will go into effect Sunday, January 1st. The City of Agoura Hills will be reviewing email submittals on Tuesday, January 3 to determine which code cycle will apply to project submittals. For a project to be reviewed under the 2022 California Building Standards Code, all required documents must have been submitted and fees paid by the deadline on Saturday, December 31st at midnight (submittals and payments are time stamped).

Projects submitted on or after January 1st, 2023, or those that are incomplete by the deadline, will be reviewed under the 2022 California Building Standards Code. Due to limited staff and Holidays schedule, applicants are urged to submit complete applications with complete plan sets (including MEP and all supporting documents) for Building Safety plan review and permits before Christmas.
