Landscape Drought Response Program
Get Sustainable in Agoura Hills!
Let’s start by planting well and be ready for the next drought but also transform the front yards to protect the local ecology. We can help. The Community Development Department has put together a program to lend its expertise to help you reduce the water used for landscaping. We’ve gathered information about drought-tolerant and native plants, but also we’ve put together sample planting plans, and finally, provided tips and resources on where to find the plants to help you start. Our goal is to encourage property owners to convert their water-dependent front yards into a drought-tolerant, native, wildlife friendly environment.
You get creative, we will review the plans for a minimal fee, and you get going on the implementation. We have provided information from other agencies to help reduce the cost of this undertaking.
We will inspect the work and showcase the most sustainable projects.
This expedited landscape plan review applies to front yards that are 2,500 square feet or less in size.
Please see the Landscape Drought Response Program handout, application and other resources on this page.
