Municipal Program – Measure W

In 2018, the County of Los Angeles passed Measure W, a parcel tax to increase the County’s local water supply, improve water quality, and invest in making communities greener and healthier. Under Measure W, the Safe Clean Water (SCW) Program, cities are allocated a local return to address local Storm Water and urban runoff challenges and opportunities. Cities use their allocated funds to implement multi-benefit Storm Water and urban runoff capture projects and programs that include a water quality or water supply benefit. For more information and to view the City’s past and current Annual Plans which outline how the City is using its allocated funds, visit the Safe Clean Water Program site.

Watershed Area Steering Committee

The City of Agoura Hills is a member of the North Santa Monica Bay Watershed Area Steering Committee (NSMB WASC). There are nine WASCs that make up the SCW Program. Each WASC is comprised of cities, agencies, and community stakeholders that review proposed projects and develop an annual Storm Water Investment Plan (SIP) for their Watershed Area to identify funding recommendations for the three regional subprograms – the Infrastructure, Technical Resources, and Scientific Studies Programs. The SIP is also reviewed by a Scoring Committee and a Regional Oversight Committee for recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. For more information on the NSMB WASC visit the Governance Committees site.
