The City of Agoura Hills, California is in a Cal-Fire designated Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone (VHFHSZ) and is under constant threat of devastating wildfire destruction as witnessed most recently with the Woolsey Fire in 2018 which raged through Agoura Hills, engulfing homes and numerous structures, while burning over 96,000 acres of land.
The City of Agoura Hills, in concert with the local Fire Safety Council, is in the process of completing a Wildfire Risk Assessment (WRA) to identify areas of concern and propose mitigation measures and best practices to decrease the risk of wildfire. Full funding for the WRA is in place and the city is scheduled to complete the WRA in the next 12 months.
