Small businesses donate more than twice as much per sales dollar to local non-profits, events, and teams compared to big businesses. 

When purchases are made within the City of Agoura Hills and sales tax is applied, the City receives 1% of the taxable sale.

• Sales tax is a major source of revenue for your City.
• Purchases outside of Agoura Hills do not generate revenue for our community. Revenue is applied towards public safety services, street repairs, and senior & youth programs.

In 2022-23, 25.1% of the City's general fund revenue was derived from sales tax.
Of the $19.4 million in General Fund revenue received in 2022-23, $5.16 million of it was derived from sales tax revenue.

As a local business community member, how can I participate?

It’s simple! If you are a licensed or registered business, you will receive all program features for free! If you are not a registered or licensed business and would like to register and be a participant in this great program, please click here. Registered businesses will be allowed to add a description of their business and products as well as a link to their business website on the business directory. To add this information, please fill out the Business Information Sheet with your new and/or updated information and return it as directed on the form.
