In 2021, Wildfires have burned nearly 2.5 million acres in California. Home hardening addresses the most vulnerable components of your house with building materials and installation techniques that increase resistance to heat, flames, and embers that accompany most wildfires. Learning to live with wildfire includes taking steps to reduce the risk to homes and save lives. Talk to a home hardening professional about a FREE evaluation.

The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCD) currently has a Home Ignition Zone Evaluation Program (HIZEP), which will be provided free of charge to those who sign up early.  The program is available to homeowners in Los Angeles County and Agoura Hills. The City encourages residents, particularly those properties adjacent to the open space areas to schedule this FREE evaluation to assist you with home hardening practices.

For additional information please visit the Resource Conservation District.
