The Department of Public Works will maintain and improve the public infrastructure to meet the current and future needs of the citizens. We will preserve and protect the delicate environment through the efficient use of limited resources and cost-effective solutions. Accountability will be upheld for all management decisions made to enhance the quality of life of each resident and hold the public health and safety in the highest regard, so that the rural fabric and unique character of Agoura Hills can be shared by current and future generations.

What We Do

The Public Works/Engineering Department is responsible for the administration and implementation of a number of maintenance and service programs within the City of Agoura Hills, which include the maintenance of streets, parks, sewers, storm drains, traffic signals, medians, and weed and litter abatement.

In addition, the department is responsible for the development of public infrastructures, installation or construction of capital improvement projects, land development, and stormwater management.

The items mentioned above require staff to respond to requests for service, coordinate our efforts with local, regional, state, and federal agencies, and above all things, to work with the community in all of our efforts.
