Public Notice - Applications Available for Planning Commission Appointments
The term of the current five members of the Planning Commission will expire January 8, 2025. To be considered for a two-year appointment, a signed original application must be received and date/time stamped by the City Clerk's Office no later than 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Thursday, December 12, 2024. Applications must be date/time stamped by the City Clerk's Office by the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted, including postmarked applications received after the filing deadline.
Applicants are required to be 18 years of age or older, a resident of the incorporated area of the City of Agoura Hills, registered to vote at his/her current place of residence, and submit a completed application (see application packet below) by the deadline. For inquiries, contact the City Clerk's Office at (818) 597-7300.
Following the deadline, each Councilmember will review and appoint a Planning Commissioner. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation and appointments will be ratified at the January 8, 2025 , Regular City Council Meeting. City staff will host an orientation for the new Planning Commissioners prior to the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for January 16, 2025. Appointments are for a two-year term ending on January 13, 2027.

- The Agoura Hills Planning Commission was established on June 13, 1986, by City Ordinance
No. 59.
- Each member of the Planning Commission receives a stipend of $100.00 each per meeting
not to exceed a total compensation of $200.00 in any one month. In the event that the City Council specifically authorizes the Planning Commission to hold one or more meetings, in addition to its regularly scheduled meetings, each member of the Planning Commission shall receive $100.00 for each such additional meeting attended provided that the total compensation received by a Planning Commissioner in any one month does not exceed $200.00.

Meeting Schedule
First and third Thursdays of each calendar month, 6:30 p.m., Civic Center - Council Chambers. All meetings are open to the public and agenda and minutes of the meetings are available for review.
The Planning Commission consists of five volunteer members who are residents and registered
voters of the City of Agoura Hills. They are appointed by the Mayor and ratified by the City Council
for a two-year term. The Planning Commission acts in advisory capacity to the City Council on land-use matters and investigates and recommends means to implement the City’s General Plan to help ensure the orderly physical growth of the City.
The members hear and make decisions on applications for new commercial and residential developments, including Conditional Use Permits, land subdivisions, and exceptions and variances from the terms of the Zoning Ordinance. They also, hear and make recommendations to the City Council on proposed zoning ordinances and General Plan amendments.
The Planning Commission annually selects a Chair and Vice Chair to serve a one-year term.
Current Planning Commission Appointments and Term
Jessica Reinhardt, Morgan Roth, and Brit Sharon were appointed by the City Council on January 11, 2023, for a two-year term ending on January 8, 2025. Appointees were administered their oaths of office and formally seated at the Regular Agoura Hills Planning Commission meeting on January 19, 2023.
Kate Anderson was appointed by the City Council on May 10, 2023, to fill the unscheduled vacancy on the Planning Commission for the remainder of the two-year term ending on January 8, 2025, and was administered her oath of office and formally seated at the Regular Agoura Hills Planning Commission meeting on May 18, 2023.
Bruce Stein was appointed by the City Council on May 8, 2024, to fill the unscheduled vacancy on the Planning Commission for the remainder of the two-year term ending on January 8, 2025, and was administered his oath of office and formally seated at the Regular Agoura Hills Planning Commission meeting on May 16, 2024.
