New Codes are Effective January 1st, 2023

Our proactive administration of the California Building Standards Code protects the public against hazards associated with the construction, use, and occupancy of buildings and structures, and contributes to the community’s high quality of life.

A building permit is authorization from the City to allow a permittee to commence the proposed construction, alteration, demolition, or repair of a building or structure.  Building permits and inspections provide owners, insurance companies, and the public the assurance that construction is done in compliance with state building codes and local ordinances. These standards are intended to protect the integrity of buildings and the welfare of the community.
