New Codes are Effective January 1st, 2023
The City of Agoura Hills Building and Safety Division is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service and standard of professional ethics while ensuring the City's built environment complies with codes designed to safeguard the health, life, and property of the City of Agoura Hills and its residents. Our proactive administration of the California Building Standards Code protects the public against hazards associated with the construction, use, and occupancy of buildings and structures, and contributes to the community’s high quality of life.
A building permit is authorization from the City to allow a permittee to commence the proposed construction, alteration, demolition, or repair of a building or structure. Building permits and inspections provide owners, insurance companies, and the public the assurance that construction is done in compliance with state building codes and local ordinances. These standards are intended to protect the integrity of buildings and the welfare of the community.
Our team of professional engineers, inspectors, and friendly support staff is dedicated to providing the highest level of plan review and inspection services to our community. Staff is committed to protecting residents and their property by enforcing building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical standards in a fair and equitable manner.
