Building and Safety Division performs inspections on all permits issued for new construction, addition/remodels, tenant improvements, and all trades (electrical, mechanical, plumbing) to ensure compliance with the applicable Building Standards Code. Building codes are designed to ensure the health and safety of structures for the benefit of everyone.

Inspections conducted at various critical stages during construction or upon completion of the permitted work, are the final steps in the development and permitting process. For new structures and change of use projects, a final inspection leads to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy, which ensures a structure is safe for occupancy
