Appointment Opportunities

Cultural Arts Council

(No vacancies at this time) The Cultural Arts Council is an Advisory Committee to the City Council. The Cultural Arts Council provides resources and opportunities for artists and art patrons to inspire and share their artistic pursuits and talents. They are responsible for developing new and exciting cultural initiatives that encourage community participation and economic growth, as well as supporting and marketing cultural programs that already exist in the City.


The Cultural Arts Council meets the second Monday of each calendar month at the Agoura Hills Recreation and Event Center.

Community Services Coalition

The purpose of the committee is to provide the City Council with direction and feedback on community services, programs, and the quality of life in Agoura Hills and surrounding neighborhoods.

Planning Commission
(5 positions ) Appointed by the City Council 
(No vacancies at this time) This is a separate application process that occurs in November of even years.
Please check the City's website for more information on how to apply for the Planning Commission.

The Planning Commission is comprised of five members who are residents of the City of Agoura Hills. The Planning Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on land-use matters, as well as hears and makes decisions on applications for new commercial and residential developments, including Conditional Use Permits, land subdivisions, and exceptions and variances from the terms of the Zoning Ordinance. They also make recommendations to the City Council on proposed zoning ordinances and General Plan amendments.


The Planning Commission meets on the first and third Thursdays of each calendar month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
